Bret Brown is a painter/illustrator, surfer, climber, trail runner, therapist, yogi, father, husband.
He could also be called a tuning fork: keen to vibrations of all sorts, attuned to a personal chord.
His artwork is heavily influenced by nature as well as the Californian surf, skate, and punk cultures of the 80’s and 90’s.
The Buddhist concepts of dependent origination and inter-connectedness play largely in his work, and he explores personal, social, and humanistic themes. Bret integrates elements of dualistic paradoxes, as expressed through compassion and playfulness, in order to communicate an earnest desire to be taken less seriously.
